Authorities of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, in partnership with the Advanced Technological Incubation and Research Center (ATIRC), have concluded arrangements to commission Nigeria's first enterprise-grade 10 Gigabits per second (10Gbps) Dedicated Smart Campus Network and Innovation Program on Thursday, July 30, 2026.
The landmark event, which forms part of the Management's ongoing efforts to reposition and transform the Polytechnic into a leading technology-driven institution, will take place at the Otunba Gbenga Daniel Auditorium by 11:00am.
According to a statement by Head, Public Relations & Protocol of the institution, Yemi Ajibola, the ceremony is expected to host top government officials, captains of industry, development partners, technology experts, and other distinguished personalities.
"It is noteworthy that the Polytechnic community is already benefiting from the pilot deployment of the 10Gbps Smart Campus Network, which delivers internet speeds of up to 10,000 megabits per second (Mbps)".
'The cutting-edge infrastructure provides secure, reliable, and ultra-low-latency connectivity capable of supporting thousands of simultaneous users, advanced research, digital learning, innovation, and other data-intensive academic and administrative activities", the statement stated
The Chairman of the Governing Council, Emeritus Professor Kamaldeen Balogun, and the Rector, Arc. Dr. 'Koye Jolaoso, will lead the Polytechnic community in welcoming guests to what promises to be a historic event in the institution's journey towards digital transformation.
Members of the Polytechnic community, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, students, members of the media, and the general public are cordially invited to witness this historic commissioning ceremony as MAPOLY, in collaboration with ATIRC, unveils Nigeria's first enterprise-grade 10Gbps Smart Campus Network, setting a new benchmark for digital infrastructure and innovation in higher education.
