IFE inducts 158 Babcock Graduate as VC bags Fellow of African Business School

President/Vice Chancellor of Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State,

Professor Afolarin Olutunde Ojewole has been conferred with a Fellow of African Business and Member of the Academy of Fellows of African Business School.

Similarly a total of 158 graduates of Babcock University were admitted into the Institute of Fraud Examiners (IFE) as Associate members of the institute during the Institute’s 10th Induction Ceremony held at the Babcock Investment Group (BIG) Conference Centre.

African Business School is the training school for the Institute of Fraud Examiners.

Professor Ojewole expressed gratitude for the honour and pledged to abide by the rules and regulations of the Business School.

Declaring the event open, President/Vice Chancellor, Professor Afolarin Olutunde Ojewole, appreciated the leadership of the Institute for supporting the induction.

He described the ceremony as more than a formal exercise. 

“This is an opportunity. It is not just about the degree, but about preparing you for the real world. This certification makes you market-ready for the world of work,” he told the inductees.

Professor Ojewole pledged that Babcock University is committed to implementing all aspects of the Memorandum of Understanding between the University and the Institute. 

He also thanked the Institute for the trust reposed in Babcock to train and mentor the students.

He noted that in some parts of the world, fraud is often treated as a normal way of life. 

“In all facets of life, Babcock University graduates will stand out among their peers because they have been equipped to prevent fraudulent activities wherever they find themselves,” he said. 

 

“Raise your heads, because you are well qualified above your peers. The Babcock brand will continue to grow stronger as you go out with a certification that is respected around the world. Join other Babcock alumni who are doing well and shining. The world of success is waiting for you.”

Also speaking, the President of the African Business School, Dr. Goddy Idaminabo urged the new fraud examiners to embrace discipline and preparation. “Promotion comes through challenges and the ability to overcome them. 

A fraud examiner must prepare well at every point in time. Preparation is key. As you step out, prepare yourself and tell yourself you will succeed. It is your turn now after your parents have done their part,” he said.

He cautioned them against assumptions and to be prepared to be part of the vanguard that will fix this country.

Dr. Idaminabo welcomed them into the profession, noting that they were entering the profession with a strong foundation in learning and character.

Executive Director, Babcock Business School, Professor Rufus Akintoye thanked the current administration and other staff to make the programme a success.

Dean of Veronica Adeleke School of Social Sciences, Professor Gift Ntiwunka charged the inductees to be good ambassadors of the institution as well as to see themselves as custodians of public trust. 

“Let the knowledge gained lead you in the world of work and live a life of trust and responsibility”, she added.
