One of Nigeria's leading secondary schools, Aminat International College Abeokuta (AICA) in the Ogun State capital has recorded 100 percent performance rate at the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME, with all the 54 candidates presented for the examination conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), scoring 200mark and above out of the total 400mark
The three top performers at this year's UTME included Adesope Toha who scored 342 , as well as twin brothers, Abdul-Raheem and Abdul-Rahman Adebowale who got 310 and 304 mark respectively, eleven of the candidates scored between 240 and 284 mark while the remaining scored between 200 and 239 mark
Principal of the school, Alhaji Mukaila Anifowose revealed this on Sunday during the 21st Valedictory Service and 26th End of the Session Activities for the graduating students in the Senior Secondary School and Junior Secondary School for the 2025/2026 academic session held at its premises located Osara Road, Gbonagun, Obantoko in Odeda Local Government Area
"In addition about 98 percent of our students had Higher Education Potentials in the 2025 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and now in various higher institutions in and outside Nigeria. The school has also won many prizes in competitions over the years", he stated
Anifowose was full of praises for the graduating 2026 class for keeping the school's flag flying while acknowledging the combined efforts of all stakeholders including representative of the late proprietor, Alhaji S.A Yusuff (Moore), Alhaji Mutiu Yusuf, Management Committee of the College and Parent Teacher Association in the department of physical infrastructure in the school
"Be good ambassadors of the College. You have had a good beginning, having graduated from a good College, but this is not enough. You have to build on it and if you don't, a good beginning becomes nothing", he charged them
Guest Speaker and alumnus of the school, Abdul Basit Abolade Shuaib Esquare in his Valedictory lecture titled: "Islam, Knowledge and Excellence in a changing Society", said the future belongs not merely to those who possess information, but to those who combine knowledge with wisdom, competence with character and success with righteous
He charged the year 2026 graduating class in the Senior Secondary School to give priority to serving Allah saying success without Allah's pleasure is temporary and incomplete
The legal practitioner stressed the need for graduands to commit themselves to a lifelong learning, saying graduation is not the end of education
"The rapidly changing nature of modern society requires continuous learning and adaptation. Seek knowledge where ever may be found and remain intellectually curious", he urged
He emphasized the importance of developing strong character maintaining that character is as important as competence
"Honesty , discipline, humility, patience and respect will open doors that qualifications alone can not open "
Shuaib who finished from the school in 2010 , advised them to always choose friends wisely saying keeping good friends will have positive impact on their future
He equally emphasized the need to embrace hard work , insisting there is no substitute for diligence and perseverance while encouraging them to use the knowledge acquired to provide selflessness services to the families people and communities

Rather, true success lies in utilizing one's knowledge in the service of Allah and humanity while maintaining integrity, humility and righteousness", he prayed Allah to grant all the graduating students beneficial knowledge, wisdom, noble character and academic success"
AICA also rewarded the academic brilliance of the trio of Abdul-Rahman Adebowale, Abdul- Raheem Adebowale and Toha Adesope who finished in the overall first , second and third positions respectively while Abdul Rahmon Olanrewaju Ajayi who.emerged as the 2026!overall best student in the Junior Secondary School final -year was rewarded with gifts after clinching prizes in eight subjects including Mathematics and both Yoruba and French Languages alongside Toriola Hafsah Adeola and Alimi Sofiyyah Oladimeji in second and third positions respectively
The Valedictorian and Headboy, Abdul-Raheem Adebowale in his speech, charged fellow graduands to remain focused, humble and committed to excellence as they step into the next phase of their academic pursuits
"The future will undoubtedly present challenges but the education, values and experiences we have gained from this great institution have equipped us with confidence and determination to overcome them", he stated
He then expressed deepest appreciation to parents, teachers and entire management of AICA for their sacrifices, encouragement and unwavering support in ensuring the academic success of the year-2026 graduating class
The Chairman of the event and Chief Executive Officer of Barry Gold Nigeria Limited, Alhaji Adeyemi Barry Adebare alongside his friend, the Akinbogun of Owu-Kingdom, Prof. Moruf Adelekan in their separate remarks advised the graduands to embrace the vocational education by acquiring additional skills in various trades in addition to their academic pursuits in higher institutions of learning
Prof Adelekan later announced the donation of N1million to the support the completion of the school multi purpose Hall while the Chairman of event announced undisclosed amount to support the completion of the school project
Others dignitaries including Father of the day, Prof. Abdul-Rasaq Adebowale of the Department of Food Science and Technolog, Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta FUNAAB represented by Prof. Sheriffdeen Adewuyi announced the donation of N100,000 while others, Chairperson of the event, Hajia Raimot Temitope Lawal and Mother of the day and CEO of Adebayo Aseyori Building Merchant, Morufat Ajoke Adebayo equally donated undisclosed amount of money for the completion of the school project
Alhaji Abdul-Hameed Bolaji later offered for the late founder of AICA for establishing the school and the graduands for a brighter future in their academic pursuits
