Ogun Govt Offers Permanent Appointment Letters To Another 1,000 OGUNTEACH Interns As Teachers In Public Schools

 

Another 1,000 Interns of Ogun State Teaching Experience Acquisition Channel (OgunTEACh), have received their  employment letters, bringing a total of  numbers of teachers employed so far on permanent bases  during the present administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun to 5,000 in Ogun State 

The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, who supervised the distribution of the letters to the new employees at the Ministry's Conference Room, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, recalled that recruitment of teachers was stalled for about 8 years before the present administration in the State came on board.

Prof. Arigbabu, attributed the employment of teachers and other success stories in the education sector to the generosity and commitment of Governor Abiodun towards proper repositioning of the education sector, to maintain the legacy laid in the sector by the founding fathers of the State.

The Commissioner, acknowledged the fact that any files, memos, as well as programmes related to the education sector always got quick approval of the Governor, appreciating him for his passion and unwavering support rendered to teachers, non-teaching staff, as well as learners across the entire districts of the State.

Arigbabu, disclosed that the government of Prince Abiodun, also considered the employment of people living with disabilities in both Public Primary and Secondary Schools, as well as Government Technical Colleges, to give them a sense of belonging and to raise their standards of living.

When it comes to the provision of infrastructure and enabling learning environment for the learners, Our Amiable Governor, Prince Abiodun, has not left any stone unturned in the entire education sector in Ogun State," Arigbabu said.

In his speech, Chairman of Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Evang. Olalekan Ifede, noted that for a government to have employed 6000 teachers, 5000 already given permanent appointments and the remaining 1000 still under the internship is worthy of commendation, urging the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture with their commitment and dedication to duty.

Speaking, Chairman, Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Apostle Abiodun Sanyaolu, said Ogun State had become a model and reference point in the education sector due to the innovation put in place by the Hon. Commissioner, adding that people must continually be grateful to Prince Dapo Abiodun for bridging the gap of teachers' employment after several years.

While welcoming people into the occasion, the Permanent Secretary in the Education Ministry, Mrs. Oluwatosin Oloko, enjoined the teachers to see their appointments as a golden opportunity. She therefore charged them to be good ambassadors of Ogun State in their different posts.

In their appreciative notes, four of the beneficiaries, Oladipo Michael, Ayinla Temitope, Oluwatosin Aladesanmi and Samsudeen Oladunjoye, expressed their gratitude to God, the State Government and the leaders of the education sector, promising to replicate the good deeds by doing their best to uplift education in the State.
