NUT Commends Recruitment of Additional Teachers For More Effective Learning In Ogun Public Schools

Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has expressed excitement over the recent recruitment of additional 1,000 teachers by the Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration to further enhance teaching and learning in public primary and secondary schools across Ogun State 

The State Government had on the 11th of June, 2026 had offered permanent letters of employment to another Batch of 1,000 Interns of Ogun State Teaching Experience Acquisition Channel (OgunTEACh), bringing a total of numbers of teachers employed so far on permanent bases during the present administration to 5,000 in the State 

The Ogun State Wing of NUT, in a statement by its Principal Secretary, Comrade Samson Oyelere in a statement, appreciated the Governor Abiodun for keeping to his administration promise of absorbing the interns into the State Teaching Service on successful completion of their internship 

The recent recruitment according to the union, has restored hope to thousands of young teachers and further demonstrated the uncommon commitment to quality education delivery in Ogun State.

The union however urged the newly appointed teachers to uphold professionalism, respect human dignity, and serve as worthy ambassadors of the teaching profession in your various schools

The statement reads in part:

"The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Ogun State Wing, is elated at the fulfillment of the promise made by the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration to absorb Ogun Teaching Experience Acquisition Channel (OgunTEACh) interns into the State Teaching Service".

"We commend His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for matching words with action and for declaring an emergency in the education sector. This singular act has restored hope to thousands of young teachers and demonstrated uncommon commitment to quality education delivery in Ogun State."

"To the newly appointed teachers, NUT heartily congratulates you. Your resilience, diligence, and commitment during the internship period have earned you this elevation to permanent status"

"We urge you to uphold professionalism, respect human dignity, and serve as worthy ambassadors of the teaching profession in your various schools"
