2027 Poll :APC Not Panic Over Defection of Iyabo Obasanjo, Loyalists To PDP- Ogun APC Chieftain

An All Progressives Congress (APC) Chieftain, Alhaji Fasiu Ajadi has dismissed speculation that Ogun state chapter of the party is in a panic mode, following defection of some of its members including Senator Iyabo Obasanjo and Lanre Sowunmi, a Special Adviser to Governor Dapo Abiodun to the opposition platform, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

The Chieftain who was speaking on a live programme 'Political Forum' on Splash FM radio station in Abeokuta, the State capital, also predicted that the major opposition party , the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), may not be on the ballot during the state's 2027 Governorship poll

The defections, according to him should be expected in the build up towards the 2027 polls.

Ajadi, a member of d Ogun State House of Assembly Service Commidion however, says the defection is of no consequence to the APC in its quest to sweep the 2027 polls in the state

Senator Iyabo Obasanjo later picked  automatic senatorial ticket on the platform of PDP for the Ogun Central

Ajadi blamed the entitlement mentality of Obasanjo who returned to Nigeria, 15 years after she lost out in the 2011 senatorial poll and join the state APC last March

According to Ajadi,  it was absurd for Iyabo to aspire for the Ogun APC Governorship ticket, adding that this amount to seeking to reap where she did not sow

The House of Assembly Service Commission member said her defection to her former political party, the PDP, would enable her to test her political strength during the 2027 senatorial poll

On the defection of Sowunmi, he said the APC was not taken unaware, adding that he had always been associating with the PDP as well as, Obasanjo and d leader of a faction of Egba Lokan agenda now backing Ogun state PDP Governorship candidate, Honorable Ladi Adebutu..

Lashing out at the leaders of the Egba Lokan Agenda, he said their support for Adebutu was standing logic on it's head
According to him,it is ridiculous for d faction set up for an Egba candidate to be d state's next governor to be backing Adebutu from Ogun East, against the APC candidate, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, who is an Egba indigene
