OHP Lauds Police , Other Security Agencies On Performance, Calls For Collective Efforts To Strengthen Security In Ogun




The Organisation For Harmony AND Peace (OHP) , a Non-Governmental Organization has commended the dedication, professionalism, courage, and relentless efforts of the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Amotekun Corps, and other security agencies for their commitment to the protection of lives and property across Ogun State.

It will be recalled that Spokesman of the State Command Police, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Oluseyi Babaseyi, in a statement on Wednesday, announced the killing of a notorious kidnap kingpin” during an intelligence-led operation in the Orile Ilugun Forest along the Abeokuta-Ibadan Expressway on Monday, 19th May 2026 by its Anti-kidnapping Unit who also recovered an AK-47 rifle, ammunition, ₦2 million cash, and mobile phones as reported in the media 

Similarly it was reported in the media that the Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command arrested 146 suspects in a sweeping, intelligence-led security operation carried out across Sagamu and surrounding communities in the early hours of April 13, 2026, as stated by the Command in a statement 


The President-General of OHP Ustaadh Tajudeen Jimoh Alao in a statement made available by its Director of Media, Ambassador Olaleye Rasheed Damilare, commended the sacrifices being made daily by security personnel in maintaining peace, combating criminality, and ensuring social stability within the state despite numerous operational challenges

"Their professionalism, patriotism, intelligence gathering, and rapid response to security concerns continue to strengthen public confidence and contribute significantly to the preservation of law and order", the organization appreciated 

OHP stressed the need for government at all levels to intensify support for security agencies through improved welfare packages, regular training, modern operational logistics, intelligence support systems, and the provision of sophisticated security equipment and technology capable of addressing emerging security threats effectively. 

"Adequate motivation and institutional support remain essential for enhancing operational efficiency and boosting the morale of security personnel" 

Security according to the organization, is a collective responsibility that requires active collaboration between citizens and security institutions. 


"Members of the public are therefore encouraged to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and proactive by promptly reporting any suspicious movement, criminal activity, or security threat to the appropriate authorities. Sustainable peace and security can only be achieved through mutual trust, cooperation, and shared civic responsibility"

OHP in the statement, prayed for continued peace, stability, progress, and prosperity in Ogun State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria while seeking for God's continuous protection of security personnel and divine guidance for those running the affairs of the country
