Nigeria Labour Congress has asked Ogun State Government to invest heavily in technology-driven security , in order to ensure a secured working environment for workers in the state
Chairman of the State Council of NLC, Comrade Hameed Benco-Ademola made the call in Abeokuta over the weekend while speaking on theme of this year's May Day celebration*Insecurity, Poverty -Bane of Decent Work*
"in view of the evolving nature of security challenges in our society, we humbly urge the Government to further enhance its security framework through
the infusion of modern, scientific, and digitalised equipment"
The NLC State Chairman said that adoption of advanced surveillance systems, intelligence-gathering technologies, and digital communication tools would significantly improve response time, crime detection, and overall security service delivery.
A secured environment according to him, remains the foundation upon which economic growth, workers’ productivity, and societal well-being are built.
"Investments in technology-driven security solutions, alongside continuous
training and capacity building for security personnel, will not only consolidate existing gains but also position Ogun State as a model of smart and proactive security management in Nigeria"
"Your Excellency, as partners in progress, the organised labour movement remains
committed to supporting initiatives that promote peace, safety, and sustainable
development".
"We believe that a more technologically driven security system will further guarantee the protection of workers and all residents of our dear State", he stated
Governor Dapo Abiodun represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele , highlighted various security initiatives including collaboration with security agencies and massive investments in modern security infrastructure which have improved the capacity of the State to protect lives and property in the state
