Management of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has concluded arrangements for the formal commissioning of the Geosciences Centre of Excellence situated at its Science Complex (formerly the Faculty of Science) this Friday, April 17, 2026.
The Centre according to a statement, is more than just a new building, it represents a significant step forward in the University’s commitment to strengthening teaching, research, and real-world impact in the geosciences.
The project is the result of a strong collaboration, funded by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC), Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company Limited (SNEPCo), and the Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).
"Together, these partners have contributed to a legacy that will support not only today’s students and researchers, but generations to come", the statement concluded
