Rector of the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, Arc. Dr. ‘Koye Jolaoso, has been honoured with the *_Distinguished Labour Solidarity Award* by the Ogun State Council of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC)
The award is in recognition of his outstanding efforts at repositioning and rebranding the Polytechnic, which have positively impacted staff welfare
Presenting the award, the Ogun State NLC Executive Council, led by its Chairman, Comrade Hameed Benco-Ademola, highlighted the notable achievements recorded at MAPOLY since the assumption of office of Arc. Dr. Jolaoso.
These, according to the Council, include the provision of an enabling working environment and sustained commitment to staff welfare.
In his citation, the NLC Chairman stated that the conferment of the Distinguished Labour Solidarity Award was in recognition of the Rector’s exemplary contributions to the labour movement and the general public.
He further described Dr. Jolaoso as a man of integrity whose leadership is defined by humanity, selflessness, and solidarity with the workforce.
“Your impactful contributions to the lives of people and to the growth of your institution stand as shining examples worthy of recognition and emulation,” he added.
Responding, Arc. Dr. ‘Koye Jolaoso expressed appreciation to the leadership of the NLC for the honour, describing it as both thoughtful and encouraging.
He noted that his role as the first alumnus to serve as Rector places on him, a responsibility to represent stakeholders’ interests through transformative leadership and institutional repositioning.
The Rector in a statement by Head, Public Relations & Protocol of the institution, Yemi Ajibola, gave thanks to Almighty Allah, the giver of life and wisdom, and dedicated the award to the staff and students of the Polytechnic.
He emphasized that the achievement was a product of collective effort, noting that no meaningful success can be attained in isolation.
Also present at the event were members of the Management team, including the Deputy Rector, Dr. (Mrs.) Yetunde Lanre-Iyanda; the Registrar, Mrs. Olubunmi Elewodalu; and the Bursar, Mrs. Folasade Madariola, FCA, among others.
