The Organisation for Harmony and Peace (OHP), through its Directorate of Political Affairs, has lauded the declaration of Engr. Abdulhamid Omotayo Omoowo to contest for the Ogun East Senatorial Seat under the umbrella of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2027, describing the move as bold and timely
President-General of OHP, Ustaadh Tajudeen Jimoh Alao who gave the commendation on behalf of the organisation in a statement by its Director of Media, Ambassador Olaleye Rasheed Damilare on Wednesday, also described the declaration as a turning point in the political history of Ogun East
"This courageous step comes at a critical time when the call for inclusive representation, justice, and fairness in Ogun State’s political landscape has never been louder. For far too long, competent and visionary Muslims have been sidelined, creating a false narrative that leadership capacity is lacking within our community. Engr. Omoowo’s emergence decisively shatters that misconception"
The declaration of Engr. Abdulhamid Omotayo Omoowo according to the statement, signals the beginning of a new political awakening in Ogun East.
"This is not just about contesting an election; it is about restoring hope, dignity, and inclusive representation for all.”
The organization says Engr. Omoowo is not a stranger to service. For decades, saying he has demonstrated commitment to humanitarian causes, community development, and the welfare of the people—long before any political ambition.

OHP in the statement, urged the people to embrace the choice of Engr. Omoowo, who has demonstrated high degree of integrity, proven capacity, and selfless leadership in serving the people

OHP expressed strong confidence in the ability of Engr. Abdulhamid Omotayo Omoowo , adding that he possesses not only the competence but also the courage and character required to deliver purposeful representation at the Senate.
