Top officials and staff of the Ogun State Ministry of Rural Development have celebrated the ministry's Director of Finance and Accounts , Mrs Ibunkun Wuraola Okudero, wife of Public Relations guru, Akin Okudero, who retired from the civil service on March 4, 2026 and honoured with a sent-forth party held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, after 34 years of unblemished career
The State Commissioner for Rural Development, Mrs Olufemi Ilori-Oduntan joined by Permanent Secretary, Mr.Oluseyi Sokoya , Directors and other staff in their separate remarks, described Ibunkun Wuraola who retired alongside Mrs Sobayo, a staff in the Department of Planning, Development and Research within the ministry, as a woman with exceptional qualities whose commitment to the service, is second to none
The Director of Finance and Accounts according to the commissioner, is known for her transparency and integrity in the management of financial resources of the ministry, saying she will personally missed her commitment to the activities of the ministry
Ilori-Oduntan was full of appreciation to the husband, Akinola Okudero, a Fellow of Nigeria Institute of Public Relations for the quality of support given to wife, Ibunkun Wuraola who was very dedicated to the service of the Ogun State Government
Others in the ministry described Mrs Okudero as a kind-hearted woman who is always a fun to be with
Guest Speaker at the sent-forth party Alhaji Taofeek Oduwaye who had earlier retired five years ago, urged the two celebrants to invest more in their personal growth and spend time to acquire the needed knowledge before venturing into any business of their choice
He urged them to embrace mentorship by understanding successful individuals in various businesses , saying doing this will equip them with the necessary knowledge on their proposed business
High point of the event was presentation of special gifts donated by staff in the ministry to the two celebrants
However the State Commissioner for Rural Development and Permanent Secretary, promised that ministry would also present its gifts to the two retired personnel at a later date
Mrs Ibunkun Wuraola Okudero on behalf of the two celebrants, appreciated the staff for the gifts, praying God to guide them till.the end of their respective career is service
Sharing her experiences in service with Edu-biznews, she described the State Commissioner for Rural Development, the various Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants and fellow staff in the ministry as great and wonderful people to work with, particularly her colleagues who are Accountants in the ministry
On life after the retirement, Ibunkun Wuraola said she only retired from the civil service but not tired of doing her personal business as an individual who is into selling of palm oil products and engage in online marketing of the products and iced blocks to the target customers on social media platforms
She later admonished those still in the civil service, to be more dedicated, and be good to everyone around them , enjoining them to always strive to make meaningful impact and leave a legacy that will make them to be remembered for years after leaving the service
The event was spiced up with a lot of praise songs, dance and fun within the ministry's complex at Oke-mosan Abeokuta
