NPFL: Rejuvenated Remo Stars Force El-Kanemi Warriors To 1-1 Draw In Maiduguri As Rivers Utd Regain Lead




Remo Stars Football Club of Ikenne-Remo have sustained their impressive run after holding homeside, El-Kanemi Warriors to one-all draw in a week 32 match of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) played on Sunday in Maiduguri , the Borno State capital 

Coach Usman Abdallah who took over the technical crew of the team in early February of 2026, has been on a rescue mission to ensure that Skye-Blue Stars based in Ogun State, survived being relegated from the top-flight league in the country 

The Nigerian league champions under the tutelage of Abdallah have won three matches at home against the likes of , Katsina United, Nasarawa United and Kwara United, suffered a heavy loss to Ranger who won 4-1 in Enugu, before settling for one-all draw away in Maiduguri with El-Kanemi Warriors, moving up from the table to 17th position with 37 points while the Warriors are in the middle (10th position) with 43 points

Meanwhile Rivers United of Port -Harcourt regained their top spot on the table with 55 points after whipping visiting league debutants, Kun Khalifat 4-2 in another week 32 match, leaving their opponents at the bottom of the table with 33 points 

Enugu Rangers dropped to the second position with 54 points after losing to Shooting Stars who won in Ibadan 3-1 to move to the 5th spot with 50 points 

Ikorodu city are placed third with 52 points after beating Warri Wolves
3-1 on Sunday in the week 32 match played at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan 

Nasarawa United of Lafia are in the Fourth position with 50 points after losing by a lone-goal away in Kwara United of Ilorin are still struggling in the relegation water with 18 position with 36 points

Abia Warriors are occupying sixth position with 49 points, after narrow loss to Enyimba International who won 2-1 in local derby , to move to the 15th spot with 39 points 

Bendel Insurance of Benin city are in the seventh position with 46 points after settling for a two -all draw with visiting Plateau United of Jos who are in the ninth position with 43 points 

Similarly Katsina United are occupying eight position with 43 points after holding Barau to a goalless draw , leaving their opponents in the 12th position with 42 points behind 11th placed Niger Tornadoes of Minna who recorded 2-0 win against relegation threatened Wikki Tourists of Bauchi in 19th position with 36 points 

Bayelsa United are placed 14th with 40 points after their 4-1 humiliating defeat against visiting Kano Pillars occupying 16th position with 39 points at the end of week 32 round of matches with just six matches to conclude the 2025/2026 elite league
