School Resumption : Ogun Govt Charges Learners To Strive For Academic Excellence, Be Good Ambassadors

Ogun State Government has charged learners across the State to always strive for academic excellence, by being diligence in their academic pursuit 

The learners were equally urged to be 

good ambassadors of the state,  not only their schools

The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu gave the charge while monitoring the Second Term resumption for the 2025/2026 Academic Session in Ijebu, Remo and Egba divisions of the State, noting that both failure and success could be achieved in installment, hence, students should strive for success and ensure that no aspect of the session was missed out.

Commending learners for high turnout as well as appearing very neat in their uniforms in a serene and attractive environments at the first day of resumption, Prof. Arigbabu described these as very impressive and satisfactory, just as he remarked that school administrators too, were punctual.

Arigbabu reiterated that the present administration had invested a lot on rehabilitation and construction of classrooms, laboratories and libraries as well as equipped them with modern facilities to ensure improved and seamless transfer of knowledge during the academic session.

"I'm really satisfied with what I've seen in all the schools visited. Principals, teachers and students were all on ground, every school we visited had very clean and tidy environment " Arigbabu noted

On her part, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs Oluwatosin Oloko enjoined learners to shun every form of social vices and unruly behaviors and should rather remain focused and determined to attain greater height, thus, fulfilling their dreams.

In their separate remarks, Principal, Molipa High School (Junior), Ijebu-Ode, Mrs Omololade Odunsi and Principal, Ita- Merin Comprehensive High School (Senior), Oru-Ijebu, Mr. Adebiyi Onabanjo affirmed that activities have begun fully in schools, starting with welcome test which would be included in the Continuous Assessment of learners at the end of the term.

School visited were, Molipa High School, Ijebu-Ode, Oke-Eri Comprehensive High School, Oke-Eri, Ita- Merin Comprehensive High School, Oru Ijebu, Isara Secondary School, Isara, Abeokuta Grammar School, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Government Technical College and Government Secondary School Idi-Aba in Abeokuta.
