Yuletide: Apostle Achudume, Olowu Charge Nigerians To Emulate Christ, Live A Life Of Selfless Service To Humanity





General Over-seer of Victory Life Bible Church, Apostle Lawrence Achudume and the Olowu of Owu-Kingdom Oba (Prof.) Saka Adelola Matemilola have charged Nigerians, particularly Christians to emulate Jesus Christ, by living a life of selfless service to humanity, so as to make the society a more secured and conducive environment for everyone 

They gave the charge on Friday during the 2025 Carol of the church tagged "Christmas On The Rock" under the theme:*The Manger and His Majesty* held inside its magnificent auditorium in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital 
Apostle Achudume in his sermons in the Holy Bible from the books of Luke and Phillipian , emphasized the spiritual significance of birth of Christ and the need for Nigerians to reflect on how he was born from the humble beginning in Bethlehem to become king of kings in the entire world, saying everyone has the potential to become great, irrespective of the background or place of birth 

The Lead Pastor of VLBC, reminded Christians of the essence of the celebration of Christmas which he listed to include spreading of love and sharing of gifts and food, particularly to the less privileged in the society 
"We must show how much we care for one another, no one beside you should go to bed without eating, we must help others to make them happy "

"You should see every position you are holding as an opportunity to serve humanity", he maintained 

Similarly the Olowu of Owu-Kingdom Oba (Prof.) Saka Adelola Matemilola in his message, admonished Nigerians to see the celebration of Christmas as a moment of sober reflection, to always live a righteous life which is the essence of message of Jesus Christ 
The monarch added that individuals in public service and private businesses must be sincere in their daily transactions with everyone and be an agent of peace and love in the society 

Also the Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya who read the fifth lesson book of John verses 1-14 re-ochoed the message of love, peace and selfless service to humanity 
Earlier, Prof. Tolu Eniolorunda had taken the first lesson from Luke verses 4-7, the General Manager of Radio Nigeria-Paramount FM, Abeokuta, Oluremi Olugbenro read the second lesson, Mr. Wole Olusakin took the third lesson while Vice-Chancellor of Chrisland University, Abeokuta, Prof. Oyedunni Arulogun read the fourth lesson 
The Assistant General Over-seer of VLBC, Reverend Adeolu Adeyanju also offered prayers to God for the peace and continued prosperity of Nigeria and Ogun State in particular for Governor Dapo Abiodun and the entire people in the state 

The colourful Christmas Carol was full of excitement, as different choirs from different churches including the host, VLBC Choir and Children entertained the congregation with songs and drama reflecting the spiritual significance of the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ 
The event reached its climax with the silent night displayed by the congregation including the Acting General Manager of Ogun State Broadcasting Service (OGBC), Mr. Gbenga Omotunde, media executives and clerics among other dignitaries

Chairman of the VLBC 2025 Christmas Carol and funfair committee, Mr.Akin Okudero described the event as epoch making, saying Apostle Achudume has continued to provide visionary leadership which has completely transformed the church whose activities impacted positively in the life of the society 
Earlier there was a Garden Rendezvous for families and children, featuring music, red carpet, face painting, games colourful districts parade, dancing as well as visit to the manger to see mother Jesus and baby Jesus, amongst others
