Nigeria's Super Eagles on Saturday recorded their second consecutive win, after beating hard-fighting Carthage Eagles of Tunisia 3-2 in the group stage of the ongoing 2025 Africa Nations Cup in Morocco , to secure a place in the round of the competition
Goals from Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman were enough to earn the Super Eagles the much needed ticket for the round of 16.
The Galatasaray of Turkey top striker, Osimhen opened scoring in the 44th minute to give Nigeria the lead before halftime in a group C match at Fez stadium in the city of Fez
Defensive midfielder, Ndidi scored important career goal for the Eagles in the 50th minute before the Atlanta of Italy striker , Ademola Lookman extended the lead in the 67th minute.
But the Tunisians came forcefully into the game in the last 25 minutes with AGharbi scoring in the 75th minute before Abdi scored from the penalty spot in the 87th minute, to reduce the goal margin to the 3-2 win for the Nigerian side
Earlier in the group's other match played, Taifa Stars of Tanzania were held to one- all draw by the Cranes of Uganda who had earlier lost 1-3 to Tunisia in the opening match played on Tuesday
Following the results from the two matches played , Nigeria is topping with the maximum six points, Tunisia is the next with three points while Tanzania and Uganda are in the third and fourth positions respectively with a one point each, having their first matches to Nigeria and Tunisia
