Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), has sealed four industries for alleged violation of the State environmental laws.
The affected industries include Aristocrate Industries Limited, Plenco Industries Limited, Nanfang Industrial Limited and Xinphang Plastic Limited, all in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the State.
Special Adviser to the Governor on Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), Hon. Farouk Akintunde made this known during an interview section with newsmen in his office at Abeokuta.
Akintunde revealed that, Nanfang Industrial Limited and Plenco Industries Limited were sealed for not installing an Effluence Treatment Plant in their factory, resulting to discharge of untreated water into the environment, which has serious consequences on public health.
He also explained that Xinphang Plastic Limited which was into recycling of plastic and Aristocrate Industries Limited, which was into production of flexible package, refused to obtain relevant government approval which are in line with their operation and denying government officials to have access to their facilities respectively.
The OGEPA Boss, expressed displeasure over the non-compliance status of these facilities, warning that the trend was unhealthy for the health of the citizens and the environment.
