No fewer than 82 students from the Department of Medical Laboratory Science, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences presented by the College of Medicine from the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) in Ekiti State, recorded 100 percent success in their First Professional Medical Laboratory Council Examination.
The two-day examination, held on September 29 and 30, 2025, was supervised by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria
The examination was used to test the students’ professional knowledge and practical competence in medical diagnostics.
Celebrating the feat, the Provost of FUOYE’s College of Medicine (FUOYECOM), Professor Ollusola Adeeyo in an official statement, described the performance as “a landmark achievement for the university and the nation’s healthcare system.”
“This result underscores the dedication of our faculty and the commitment of our students to excel despite the challenges in the medical education sector, "Professor Adeeyo said
“FUOYE is determined to continue raising the bar in the training of medical professionals.”
However, the news has sparked excitement across the FUOYE community, with staff, students, and alumni lauding the achievement as proof of the university’s growing impact in medical education.
With this 100% pass rate, FUOYE continues to strengthen its place among institutions committed to producing skilled healthcare professionals for Nigeria’s future.
