The fifth Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta and the Current Secretary-General of the Association of African University, Accra Ghana, Prof. Olusola Bandele Oyewole will on Tuesday bow out of service of the University, having clocked 70 years.
Oyewole started his career with the University of Lagos , Abeokuta campus in 1985 and rose to become the vice Chancellor of the Federal university of Agriculture, Abeokuta
in May 2012 for a five year single term which ended in May 2017.
An International research scholar, Prof. Oyewole is currently the Secretary-General of the Association of African Universities with the headquarters in Accra Ghana.
A Professor of Food Science & Technology with speciality in Food Microbiology and biotechnology, Oyewole has over forty years experience in African Higher education with over one hundred scholarly publication to his credit.
His interest in the development of higher education in Africa include quality assurance, leadership and management in African higher education and research systems.
He is currently the sub-cluster coordinator of the African union commission continental education strategy for education in African on Research and graduate studies.
Prof. Olusola Bandele Oyewole's is a man after the heart of God with God using him to bring Mountain of fire and miracle ministry to Abeokuta and Ogun state after which he started Divine heights bible church, Abeokuta on the instruction of the holy spirit.
The Thanksgiving service for his retirement was held at the Divine heights bible church Abeokuta with Pastor Bamigbayan of New Testament Assembly worldwide ministering.
The pull out ceremony according to a statement by the church, will be marked with a special Senate session put together to honour the fifth Vice Chancellor and a great ambassador of the University on Tuesday 30th September, 2025 at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta by 10 am .
The retirement and 70th birthday will be marked with the presentation of four books, three of which were written by the celebrant.
