OgunTESCOM Boss Tasks Teachers On Moral Education

Teachers across the country have been advised to consistently integrate moral values and religious teachings into school activities, in order to build a more responsible generation.

The Chairman of the Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Apostle 'Biodun Sanyaolu, made the call while featuring on a television personality programme in Abeokuta.

Apostle Sanyaolu explained that learners must be painstakingly nurtured and properly guided so that they can grow into responsible citizens who would contribute meaningfully to the society.

He emphasised that the responsibility of moulding the lives of learners should not be left to teachers alone, adding that parents and guardians must also provide strong support to school administrators and educators.

The TESCOM boss submitted that though, some learners are difficult in character and attitude, but teachers are expected to find creative and effective ways to instill values that would shape their future for good.

He stressed that beyond academic excellence, moral discipline and good character remained essential components of education, and must not be overlooked in schools, saying "It is the joy of every teacher to see their students flourish in the future and excel in different fields of human endeavour".

The TESCOM Chairman reaffirmed the Commission’s resolve to re-introducing initiatives aimed at inspiring and motivating secondary school students across the state.

Apostle Sanyaolu therefore called on school authorities at all levels, both public and private, to take proactive measures in supervising and guiding learners, to raise a disciplined, productive and responsible future leaders.
