The State Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi made the call at a Summit organised by Ogun State Real Estate Developer Association of Nigeria; which has its theme "Laying The Right Foundation for a Thriving Real Estate Market in Ogun State’’ held at the Cultural Centre in Kuto, Abeokuta.
Jagunmolu Omoniyi, described housing as an essential component in human life which everyone would always strive to have, hence, the resolve of the government to make affordable houses available to the public.
He used the medium to reel out previous success recorded in the sector, affirming that the housing scheme under Prince Dapo Abiodun’s administration had delivered five thousands affordable smart houses to different categories of people in the State.
The initiative according to him, had provided livelihood through the engagement of artisans, thus, serving as stimulant for economic activities in the State.
The Commissioner mentioned that Prince Court Estates located at Kobape, Kemta Idi-Aba, Ilaro Sagamu, Ijebu Ode and Aviation Village Iperu were testimonies of quality Affordable housing provided by Governor Dapo Abiodun administration.
Speaking on the GRA Regeneration Scheme in Abeokuta and Ijebu Ode, Omoniyi noted that the project has forged a modern, vibrant smart city geared towards enhancing the economy value of the State.
Earlier in his address, State Chairman of REDAN, Dr. Adeyemi Adeniyi, expressed delight with the success recorded in the State’s housing sector, he noting that government had adopted an open economic system by building houses for people to purchase, pledging his Association’s continuous support for a thriving ecosystem that would stand as model for other regions.
