LASU Tightens Security On Campus As Vice-Chancellor Approves Establishment Of Rapid Response Team

Management of the Lagos State University Ojo has tightened security in the institution, following an approval by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello for the establishment of a Rapid Response Team 

The RRT is to be established within the Security Investigation and Enforcement Unit (SIEU) of the Security Department headed by Mr Edu Azeez Babatunde, Principal Security Officer I.

The mandate of the RRT include to provide swift intervention during emergencies, respond promptly to distress calls from staff, students and visitors as well as support and reinforce other security operations within the University

Other responsibility is to ensure identification of RRT Operatives for ease of recognition, operatives will wear 

Deep red jackets, polo shirts and face caps as well as bold white reflective inscriptions with university logo on the front and “SIEU” prominently inscribed on the back

Operational guidelines of RRT according to the mandate, will operate strictly under the mandate of the Security Unit and in accordance with the University’s security policies.
