FUOYE Offers A Year Scholarship To Fawole Deborah For Her Emergence As Best Adjudicator In Nigerian Varsities Debate Contest

Fawole Deborah Tosin, a 400-level Finance student of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), has been
awarded a one-session scholarship, as  reward for her emergence as the Best Adjudicator in the Novice Category at the prestigious All-Nigeria Universities Debating Championship (ANUDC).

She became the overall winner among participants from 28 universities across the South-West.

Acting Vice-Chancellor of FUOYE, Prof. Olubunmi Shittu who announced the scholarship award while receiving Fawole in his office, described the award as  a reward for her dedication,
resilience, excellence, and exemplary representation of the institution

The ANUDC is one of the biggest intellectual gatherings in the country, bringing together debating clubs from federal, state, and private universities.

This year marked its 12th edition, with the goal of giving undergraduates a platform for civic engagement, critical thinking, and healthy exchange of ideas through debates and public speaking.

Fawole, who currently serves as the President of the FUOYE Debate Club, stood out at the championship, which was hosted by the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, from August 24th to 30th, 2025.

Her outstanding performance didn’t just raise FUOYE’s flag high, it also reminded everyone that FUOYE students are a force to reckon with on any stage.
