Ogun HoS, TUC President Osifo, NLC Chairman, Others Hail Exceptional Leadership Style Of Com.Lasisi







Ogun State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, National President of Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, Comrade Festus Osifo, the State Chairman of Nigeria Labour, Comrade Hameed Benco-Ademola, Chairman of the State Joint Negotiating Council, Comrade Isa Olude amongst others top labour leaders have lauded the exceptional leadership style of Comrade Akeem Lasisi for past four years in TUC , championing the interest of workers in the state 

They all showered the encomium in their separate speeches on Thursday in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital during the maiden quadrennial delegates conference of the State Council of TUC 

The State Head of Service represented by Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Establishment and Training, Mrs Lydia Fajounbo  acknowledged the numerous contributions of Comrade Lasisi leadership of TUC along with other labour leaders in ensuring industrial harmony between government and workers in the state 

Onasanya while declaring open the quadrennial delegates conference,  admitted that a lot still needed to be done for workers, assuring them of the government's commitment to promotion of their welfare 

He however noted the state had moved beyond where it used to be before the present administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun whose government in the past six years had introduced a number of programmes including training and retraining, insurance scheme amongst other incentives to ensure decent working environment for the workforce 




The State Head of Service assured the new leadership of TUC of continuous robust workers friendly relationship, encouraging the new executive committee to always explore the avenue of dialogue with government rather than being confrontational in agitating for the needs of workers in the state, so as to sustain the industrial harmony in the state 

TUC President represented by Acting Deputy Secretary General, Comrade Olawunmi Jimoh who was full of appreciation for Lasisi whom according to him has provided purposeful  leadership for the state council of the union 

Osifo called on government at all levels to always prioritize the welfare of workers in the state in order to ensure decent working environment for them to be more productive to the economic growth of the nation 


He then called on the new executive of the state council of TUC to renew the commitment of the union to the promotion of welfare of workers, saying labour leaders across the country had been put on red alert to resist any attempt by members of National Assembly to remove all labour related acts from the exclusive list of the Federal Government to the concurrent list to empower state governments to determine minimum wage for workers 

Also the State Chairman of NLC, Comrade Hameed Benco-Ademola who noted cordial relationship with TUC under the leadership of Comrade Lasisi, stressed the need for a review of all labour related acts to ensure a decent working environment for workers in the country 








He then lauded Governor Abiodun whose government according to him has been working seriously in the past six years to ensure a decent working environment for workers in the state 

Similarly the State Chairman of JNC, Comrade Isa Olude noted Comrade Lasisi's vibrant leadership in TUC in the struggle by organized labour for promotion of workers' welfare and interests 


He enjoined the new executive of TUC to be constructive in their criticism and agitations for a better working condition for members, saying leadership is about being alive to responsibility 

The former President of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) and immediate past National Treasurer of NLC, Comrade Akeem Ambali said Comrade Akeem Lasisi provided exceptional leadership in the past four years in TUC, saying he along with other labour leaders demonstrated great skills in negotiating for the interests of workers in the state 




Other veterans labour leaders including Comrade Adebanjo and Assistant Secretary of the State Chapter of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Comrade Dasaolu, and pioneer State Chairman of TUC , Comrade Fasina appreciated the leadership of Comrade Lasisi in their respective goodwill messages at the event
