Lagos State University (LASU) has taken a bold step in advancing its vision of academic excellence and global relevance by signing Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with ten distinguished organisations.
The agreements, which span diverse areas including research, innovation, professional training, and industry collaboration, underscore the University’s commitment to strengthening partnerships that will enhance learning, drive impactful research, and contribute to sustainable development in Nigeria and beyon
Vice-Chancellor/Chairman, Board of Directors, LASU Consult Limited, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello led the university's team at the historic signing ceremony which took place on Monday, 18áµ—Ê° August 2025, at the Senate Chamber, Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, LASU Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos
She noted that the MoUs between LASU Consult Limited and its external partners symbolised a new phase of technical cooperation with the University.
“Today marks more than the signing of a document. It is the formal sealing of a shared vision, one that unites academic excellence with practical innovation, scholarly rigour with industry expertise, and institutional values with societal needs,” she said.
The value of the collaborations according to her, is multifaceted, as they provide the University with platforms to expand the impact of its research outputs and foster cross-sectoral engagements that reinforced its trajectory towards global recognition as the best university in West Africa.
"They also offered MoU partners access to a wealth of academic resources, specialised knowledge, and research-based solutions", she stated
Prof. Olatunji-Bello commended LASU Consult Limited, under the leadership of Professor Ibrahim Bakare, for its diligence, strategic vision, and commitment in bringing the partnerships to fruition.
The ten organisations that signed MoUs with Lagos State University include: Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH); Institute of Supervision and Leadership (ISL); Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN); KAP Film and Television Academy; TC Resources Technologies (UK) Limited; DLONG Media International Limited; De Root Renaissance; Energy Services Systems Managers Limited (ESSML); Universal Research Training Institute (URTI); and Decent Work, Labour, and Skills Development Services.
The partner organisations lauded Lagos State University for its visionary leadership and commitment to purposeful collaboration.
Their representatives expressed readiness to work hand-in-hand with the University to advance research, innovation, professional training, and community impact.
A major highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of a plaque to the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, by the President and Chairman of the Governing Council, ICSAN, Mrs Uto Ukpanah, FCIS.
Similarly, the President of ISL, Prof. Kayode Bowale, presented plaques and certificates of admission as Distinguished Fellow and Fellow of the Institute of Supervision and Leadership (ISL) to the Vice-Chancellor and the Director of LASU Consult Limited, Prof. Ibrahim Bakare, respectively.
Registrar of LAS , Mr Emmanuel A. Fanu, delivered the vote of thanks.
The event was attended by key members of the University Management, including officials from the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, members of the Board of Directors, LASU Consult Limited, and the Legal Affairs Division, led by its Director, Mrs Olajumoke O. Boyejo.
