FG Committee On Needs Assessment Visits LASU, Commends Effective Utilization Of 2021 Revitalisation Fund Intervention




The Federal Ministry of Education's  Implementation Monitoring Committee (IMC) on the Needs Assessment of Nigerian Public Universities has commended the Lagos State University, Ojo  for effective utilization of the 2021 Revitalisation Fund Intervention for public universities in the country 

The seven-man team led by Comrade Ibeji Nwokoma conducted a post-evaluation of procured items and equipment by LASU for the Needs Assessment Revitalisation Intervention Project 2021 on both the Epe campus and main campus in Ojo where the committee commended the management of the university for  its diligence and commitment towards the efficient utilisation of the 2021 Revitalisation Fund Intervention

The committee who appreciated the warmed reception by the management of the university, however  noted some shortcomings on the part of certain departments, particularly their failure to put some of the procured equipment to proper use. 

The committee recommended that the university sustain its culture of transparency and effective collaboration, while also serving as a benchmark for other public universities in Nigeria.

In his response, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor Oseni Afisi, expressed his satisfaction with the conduct of the team’s evaluation exercise and pledged the University’s full support in making the team’s reporting process seamless, as well as ensuring prompt action on all observations raised.








Professor Afisi affirmed that the University would continue to demonstrate commendable transparency and responsibility in managing the intervention project, which is aimed at addressing identified infrastructural and academic gaps, while also strengthening the overall goal of repositioning higher education in Nigeria. 

Also, in attendance at the meeting were representatives of the Bursar, Deputy Bursar, Budget and Budgetary Control, Lagos State Government Matters, Mr Kunle Odunlami; Deputy Bursar, Contracts & Grants, Mr Abiodun Sanbe, Assistant Director, Interventions (Needs Assessment), Dr Azeezat Alafia; Assistant Director, Interventions (TETFund), Dr Odunayo Olumide and Chairman, NAAT, Dr Jimi Adejo.###
