2025 Women's FIBA Afrobasket: Nigeria's D'Tigress In 5th Consecutive Final, Beat Senegalese 75-68 In S/Finals


Nigeria's D'Tigress are in the historic fifth consecutive final of the ongoing 2025 Women's FIBA- Afrobasket in Abidjan, Coted'Ivoire , after their arch-rivals from Senegal 75-68 points in Semi-finals played on Saturday's night 

The Rena Wakama tutored D'Tigress won the first quarter of the highly explosive game between two biggest rivals on the continent 22-17, before struggling to extend the lead with a narrow 21-20 win in the second quarter 

The Senegalese came forcefully into the game, winning the third quarter with a wide margin 21-9 while Nigerian women dominated the fourth and last quarter, as they consolidated on their strong control with a massive 23- 10 

With the semi-finals 75-68 win, D'Tigress emerged as the first side to reach fifth consecutive final in the history of the competition 

The sixth-time Women Afrobasket Champions have continued to enjoy winning streak and unbeaten record since 2017 when they won their third title after the exploit of 2003 and 2005 editions

The Nigeria's female senior basketball side won the 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2023 editions and are on the verge of making history as the first team to win the title for the  fifth  consecutive time

Senegal is still the only country with equal record of four consecutive title of the Women's FIBA Afrobasket
