Sallah: Gov Abiodun To Nigerians- Don't Give Up Hope , Says Better Days Are Ahead




Governor Dapo Abiodun has pleaded with Nigerians not to give up on the economic reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration in the country, assuring them of better time in the coming days 

Governor Abiodun who made plea on Friday during the 2025 Eid-el- Kabir Two Rakats prayer at the Lantoro Central Eid Ground in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, however expressed his administration appreciation to the Muslim community in the state, for the support given and success recorded in the past six years, calling for continuous prayers to implement more meaningful projects for the people of the State 

Abiodun  represented by Sen. Afolabi Shuaib Salisu representing Ogun Central at the Nigerian Senate, stressed the need for Muslims to be grateful to Allah in what ever situation they found themselves as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim whose obedience to the command of Allah ,marks the spiritual significance of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration for Muslims over the world 




"Let us remain steadfast in our faith in Nigeria and show compassion for others which is essence of this festive period"

He added that the economic reforms initiated by the Tinubu's administration have started yielding positive results, saying the prices of food and other commodities are gradually coming down while the foreign exchange market is experiencing relatively stable exchange rate of Naira to Dollar and other currencies 

Abiodun maintained the recent tax reforms  introduced by the present administration contributed  greatly to revenue coming into the Federation Account and being shared among the three tiers of government 

"More State Governments can now pay the national minimum wage of N70,000 unlike in the past when most states found it very difficult to even pay the previous minimum wage of N30,000. I want to assure Nigerians that the glass cup is half-full 


Similarly the Baba Adeen of Yoruba land , Edo and Delta States who is also former Nigeria High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Alhaji Sarafa Tunji-Ishola appealed to Muslims to used the festive period to continue to pray for government at all levels for the prosperity of the country 

Earlier, the Grand Chief Imams of Egbaland, Sheikh Sa'addallah Alade Bamigbola in his sermon to Muslim fateful, admonished Muslims to always imbibe the teachings of Prophet Ibrahim who demonstrated the spirits of obedience to Allah, compassion for others 

He emphasized the lessons of love for others and the act of charity as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim 

He later performed the spiritual symbolic sacrificial of slaughtering of ram which marks the most important aspect of the celebration 


Dignitaries who participated in the two Rakats prayer included immediate former governor and two term Senator for Ogun Central, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, House Representatives member (Abeokuta South) Afolabi Moruff Afuape , the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs, Ganiyu Hamzat , Permanent Secretary of the Ogun State Ministry of Information and Strategy, Alhaji Waheed Adesina, Secretary General of the Ogun State Muslim Council, Asiwaju Kamaldeen Akintunde Esq amongst others
