Ogun State Government is celebrating the achievement of Oluwaseun Kuforiji who emerged as Guinness Book Record Holder of longest sewing marathon in the world
The State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu who expressed excitement while receiving Kuforiji, a fashion designer at his office in Oke-Mosan Abeokuta, charged youths aspiring to achieve greatness in life to imbibe Kuforiji's spirit of hardwork, perseverance, and dedication in their daily activities.
According to him, achieving and maintaining success in life involves individual relentless efforts.
Prof.Arigbabu admonished the youths to desist from sharp practices but rather take after the doggedness and resilient attitude of Mr. Kuforiji who passionately set out his goals, pursue them diligently and achieve them in entirety.
The Commissioner appreciated the humanitarian gesture of the record holder for donating school uniforms to about 10,000 Public Primary School learners in Ijebu-Ode, Sagamu and Abeokuta axis of the State, saying his gesture had complimented the effort of the government towards providing qualitative education for the learners.
He said "It is a pleasant thing, seeing young people doing exploit. Seeing younger people achieving greatness, makes me proud and I want to really commend you for having a vision and pursue it and for being a source of inspiration,’’ he said
Speaking, Seun Kuforiji, the record holder said giving to the less privileged pupils was a note of appreciation for winning the record and to help the pupils deal with low self-esteem that may truncate their ambitions.
