NNL: Ogun Sports Commissioner Charges Gateway United FC To Go For Victory Against Godswill Akpabio FC In Uyo



Players in  Gateway United Football Club have been charged to go all out for victory as they prepare for their final game of the season in the Nigeria National League NNL ,against Godswill Akpabio FC in Uyo, the Akwa-Ibom State capital 

Ogun State Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon. Wasiu Isiaka who gave the charge during a meeting with the team at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta just before their departure to Uyo, also assured the players of a bumper reward if they secure maximum points.
 
 “We want you to know that the government and the people of Ogun State are solidly behind you,” he said.

 “This is a crucial match, and you can’t afford to falter. It’s a winnable game. From our end, we’ve fulfilled our responsibilities by ensuring prompt payment of salaries and offsetting all bonuses. A bumper financial reward awaits you if you get the job done.”

In response, assistant captain Kabiru Popoola expressed appreciation on behalf of the players.

 “We thank the Honourable Commissioner for his consistent support. We know what is at stake, and we promise to give our all to make the state proud," he assured 

Also the club’s Acting General Manager, Niyi Soleye, assured that the team is fully prepared to justify the confidence reposed in them.

The Acting General Manager in a statement by the club's Media Officer, Mayokun Moses Ojewumi, expressed the readiness of the technical crew and entire team to secure the needed points to sustain the position of the club in the Nigeria's second tier league 

 “The team is upbeat and ready. The technical crew and the entire squad are focused, and we will give our all in Uyo,"he stated 

The Gateway United's fixture in Uyo will determine their Nigeria National League (NNL) status for next season.
