A Five-Member Advisory Committee of Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, the Anambra State capital has been formally inaugurated by the Acting Vice-chancellor, Prof Carol Arinze-Umobi to reposition the university for a greater height
The Acting Vice-Chancellor during the inauguration of the committee on Tuesday in her office, reminded members of the importance of their assignment.
The committee powers according to Prof Arinze-Umobi , are to investigate and offer recommendations to facilitate the growth of the University.
She noted that the choice of the calibre of men and women in the committee was made out of their individual capabilities, such that they are known to say the truth at all times.
Prof Arinze-Umobi whose tenure in office will last for six months, expressed the hope that the committee would be eventful and result-oriented.
The Acting Vice-Chancellor further assured them of her full support to help them carry out their assignment while appreciating members of the committee for accepting to serve the university
Responding, the Chairman of the Committee, Prof Philomena Igbokwe, on behalf of the members of the committee, expressed gratitude for being chosen to serve.
She promised that the committee would do a thorough and good job of certifying their calling.
Other members of the committee in attendance were Prof. Makodi Bierenu-Nwabugwu, Prof Chike H. Nwankwo, Prof Apakama Akunne Ijeoma and Mr Obinna Ahaneku (Secretary).
