Ogun Govt To Strengthen Partnership With NIPC Om Investment Drive

 


Ogun State Government says it will continue to build a robust partnership with the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) as the State strengthens its position as investors’ preferred destination in Nigeria.

The State Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela made the promise while meeting with Officials of the NIPC South West Zonal Office who paid him a courtesy visit in his Office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Sofela who was in company of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Mineral Resources Development, Professor Kayode Oyedele, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Industry, Trade and Investment, Hon. Sunday Oyesanya, said the partnership with the NIPC would help investors derive more benefits from investing in the State.

He commended the Executive Secretary /Chief Executive Officer of the NIPC, Ms. Aisha Rimi for fostering collaboration between the commission and the State Government.

The Commissioner added that since the commencement of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration, the State Government had deliberated and remained focused at implementing various institutionalised reforms as well as infrastructural projects which had positioned the Gateway State as the number one investment destination in Nigeria.

“We are the number one preferred investment destination of choice in Nigeria as at today and it is not by chance, it is deliberate action, work and focus based on the vision and aspirations of Governor Dapo Abiodun when he assumed Office in 2019. A lot has been done in terms of reforms and business transformation creating the enabling environment for investors to come in and also upscale,” the Commissioner stated.

Speaking earlier, Co-ordinator, NIPC Southwest Zonal Office, Mrs. Ololade Okeowo lauded the reforms of Governor Dapo Abiodun, noting that the reforms were producing positive results as the NIPC has observed an increased inflow of investments into Ogun State.

“We are proud to associate with Ogun State and its contributions to the economic development of Nigeria, we have seen a lot of the Governor’s efforts and I must say it is mind-blowing. It has contributed to improving the investment climate and boosting investors’ confidence,” the Zonal Co-ordinator said.

Okeowo called on the government to carry the NIPC along while relating with investors, adding that investors stand the chance of benefiting from the commission’s after-care service and different incentives
