The quest by Abia Warriors Football Club for a Continental ticket came under serious threats on Saturday, after suffering an humiliating loss in the hands of home team, Katsina United who won 5-1 in a week 34 match of Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL played in Katsina Stadium
Abia Warriors currently placed third on the table with 53 points while Katsina United moved to the 11th position with 44 points
The Abia Warriors may be displaced by the fourth placed Ikorodu City with 52 points, if the Lagos based side are able to secure a vital draw against the El-kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri
The 16th placed El-kanemi Warriors with 42 points will also be seeking a win and maximum three points in the encounter, to clime up the table and move away from relegation zone
Defending champions, Enugu Rangers moved to the fifth spot with 49 points after a 4-2 win on the road against relegation threatened Lobi Stars's of Markudi who are still languishing at bottom of the Nigeria's top flight league with just 25 points
Similarly, Enyimba International of Aba moved to the seventh position with 49 points after managing a 2-1 win against visiting Kano Pillars who dropped to the ninth position with 47 points on the table
The week 34 round of matches continue on Sunday with league leaders, Remo Stars with 62 points taking on home side, Shooting Stars of Ibadan who are still struggling to move from their current eight position with 48 points to the top three spots on the table for a place in the CAF clubs competitions
Rivers United who currently occupy the second spot with 55 points will want to consolidate on their position when they take on Sunshine Stars of Akure in Port Harcourt
The Akure gunners are still struggling to survive relegation water in the 19th position with 38 points on the table
