The Authority of Lagos State University, Ojo has asked general public to disregard the earlier reaction to the story of its former student , Ogunbode Quadri Adedamola who was reported missing on January 16, 2025, following fresh information received regarding the case
"In light of the latest information gathered, the university wishes to issue a correction to the earlier issued press release, dated Tuesday, March 4, 2025, titled : "LASU Commiserates with Family of Adedamola Ogunbode; Calls for Timely Justice"
Deputy Registrar/Spokesperson of the university, Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile stated this in a statement obtained by Edu-Biznews
The statement further reads in part:
"Specifically, the statement that "Following investigations by security agencies, his mutilated body was purportedly found buried in the compound of a popular church in the area". This has been rendered inaccurate and should be disregarded".
"The University expresses sincere apologies on the confusion the quoted part of the press release might have caused, as it restates call for the security agencies to expedite investigations into his disappearance and bring perpetrators to book in a timely manner.", the statement concluded
