A Non-Governmental Organization, Ireede-Oginni Grassroots Foundation has felicitated Muslims in Nigeria on the commencement of fasting in the new holy month of Ramadan, stressing the need for them to increase their financial support to the less priviledged people in the country, which is a form of zakat and Sadaqah as commanded by Allah in the holy qu'ran, in order to reap multiple spiritual rewards
Founder of the foundation, Hajia (Chief) Zainab Funmilayo Ireede-Oginni who made the call in a statement made available to Edu-Biznews on Sunday, said increasing such financial support would also reduce current economic hardship being experienced by most families in the country caused by removal of fuel subsidy and floating of naira under the ongoing reform policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration
She expressed confidence in the ongoing reform policies which which according to her, have started yielding the expected results gradually in terms of competitive pump prices of petrol and reduction in prices of food items in the local markets
She urged Muslims to use the spiritual month of fasting to continue to pray for the Tinubu's administration to succeed in the tasks of repositioning the economy and making the country work for all Nigerians irrespective of tribes or religions
The Chief Executive officer of Terra Integrated Services Limited, an emerging conglomerate in Nigeria, also restated the commitment of her foundation to always support the less priviledged women in rural communities in Ogun State, through its empowerment initiative which provides financial grants for women to grow their small scale businesses and support their families
The Co-founder of Future Promise Group of Schools Abeokuta, added that Ireede-Oginni Grassroots Foundation would continue to offer support through scholarship awards for brilliant children to further their education and actualize their dreams
She assured that children with special talents would continue to get the needed support from the foundation, to develop their talents and fulfill their careers aspirations in life
She prayed for successful completion of the spiritual exercise and bountiful rewards for every Muslim in the country
