Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has embarked on its monitoring and evaluation exercise where teachers were commended for their unwavering dedication for providing quality education in schools.
The move is part of government’s efforts to establish standards in public primary schools
The exercise was carried out by the Quality Assurance Department of the Board with the aim of assessing teachers and learners on the curriculum, teaching methods, and availability of educational resources.
Addressing the teachers at St. Luke Anglican Primary School, Ibara-Orile, the Board's Secretary, Dr. Mikhail Lawal, said the visitation was aimed at improving the system, support teacher development and ensure that schools meet the required standards, pointing out that the exercise was a monthly routine, supported by the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) in Ogun State, towards promoting a conducive environment for teaching and learning.
In his remark, the UBEC State Coordinator, Mr. Sola Badmus, commended the State government for prioritising education, particularly in teacher-training and development.
In their separate responses, Headteachers St. Luke Anglican Primary School, Ibara-Orile and AUD Primary School II, Iperu-Remo, Mrs. Omobola Akano and Mrs. Funmilayo Oyemosu, respectively, appreciated SUBEB officials for the visit, pledging to continue to perform their duties as expected.
Other schools visited to include, Wesley Nursery and Primary School, Iperu-Remo and St. John's Anglican Nursery & Primary School, Ajura at Obafemi Owode Local Government, among others.
