Pastor of First Baptist Church, Odode-Idanre in Ondo State, Reverend Samson Odeyinka and Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State have stressed the need for wealthy Nigerians to always embrace selfless service, so as to transform their respective communities and enhance the well-being of the less priviledged in the society
The duo gave the charge during a funeral service for Chief Moses Adenoye Akinmade, father to Special Adviser on Media and Communication in Ogun, Kayode Akinmade held at the church, before his final burial in the ancient town of Idanre over the weekend
The cleric described Late Pa Akinmade who died at 98 last year as a selfless and philanthropist who used his wealth for growth of the church and transformation of his community, through various projects while assisting less priviledged individuals in the society to grow
Pastor Odeyinka in his sermon at the funeral service urged people, especially the wealthy individuals to emulate exemplary lifestyle of the Late Obamoluwa of Idanre Kingdom, a Cocoa Merchant and Prominent Community Leader who committed his wealth to the growth of the church and his entire community, saying doing this is the most rewarding on earth that will guarantee every soul eternal rest
He acknowledged the numerous contributions of the deceased to the development of Idanre town, particularly the First Baptist Church while encouraging the children to continue with the legacy, by committing themselves to the construction of a proposed N50 million Modern Pastorium as well as shopping complex and three Plasma Television (45inches) amongst other needs of the church
Similarly Governor Abiodun who was represented by the Ogun State Head of Service,Mr. Kehinde Onasanya urged the children including the two-term Commissioner for Information in Ondo State and Special Adviser on Media and Communication in Ogun State ,Kayode Akinmade and Dr.Donald Akinmade , Deputy Registrar of the Olabisi Onabanjo University OOU) Ago-Iwoye, to sustain the great legacy of Pa Moses Akinmade who was a devout Christian that committed his wealth and time to serving God and humanity
His counter-part in Ondo State, Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa represented by Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan lauded the selfless lifestyle of Pa Moses Akinmade who contributed so much to development of Idanre town and its environ
Adeniyan pledged to facilitate the support of the Ondo State Government Cl III miniin ensuring the construction of the proposed jModern Pastorium and expansion of the First Baptist Church in Idanre while announcing his personal donation of a Plasma TV out of the three needed by the church
Also speaking on behalf of the children ,Kayode Akinmade assured the church of the support of the family for the expansion project of the church
He added that his siblings would continue to support the growth of the church, so as to sustain the great legacy of their late father in the church and the entire Idanre town
Those that attended the funeral service include former governor of the Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Rahman Mimiko and former and current members of National Assembly and Chieftains of All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state, those cabinet members that served with Kayode Akinmade during the former administration of Olusegun Rahman Mimiko in Ondo State
The event attracted members of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) from Ogun , Ondo and Lagos, Ogun State Chapter of Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Chief Executive officer of RockcityFM Radio Abeokuta, Dr. Niran Malaolu and wife, General Managers of Ogun State Television, Tunde Kaseem and that of the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation, Toyin Sogbesan , permanent secretaries amongst other dignitaries
The reception of the funeral activities was later held in the town, where a popular gospel juju musician, Yinka Ayefele entertained guests to melodious songs
