Management of the Lagos State University Ojo onTuesday, January 7, 2025, paid the 25-35 per cent salary Increment to its striking Non-Academic Staff, after receiving 50 percent of the expected counterpart funding from the Lagos State Government
The various Non-staff unions had on Monday declared indefinite strike over the non-payment of the salary differentials to their members on resumption of academic activities by the university after the Yuletide period
Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello was however full of praises for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for approving the prompt release of government's 50 percent counter part funding to the university to enable it pay the salary differentials to workers
The Vice-Chancellor also extended her appreciation to the staff unions for their constructive engagement and patience throughout the negotiation process, which made this payment possible.
Given the university's financial position regarding the internally generated revenue (IGR)-funded portion of the remaining salary differentials, management effected the payment as stated below:
*Non-academic staff members* on CONUNASS 1-11 and *Academic staff members* on CONUASS 1-4 received 100% of their entitlement.
- *Non-academic staff members* on CONUNASS 12-15 and *Academic staff members* on CONUASS 5-7 were paid 50% of their funds.
The remaining 50% for these groups of staff will be disbursed on or before Friday, 17th January 2025.
