Ogun State Water Corporation has commenced a large-scale maintenance and repair operations across the state, as part of strategic moves to enhance provision and distribution of potable water service delivery
The Acting General Manager of the Corporation, Mrs. Olubunmi Oyeneye, while speaking during an inspection to some identified critical areas in need of attention for maintenance and repair, said the exercise aimed at addressing leakages and busted pipes as well as aging infrastructure to enable residents, enjoy uninterrupted water supply
Some parts of Abeokuta, the State capital have been experiencing shortage of portable water
"Our aim is to ensure that residents have access to clean, uninterrupted water supply by addressing these pressing infrastructure issues, general maintenance and repairs", she stated.
Mrs. Oyeneye said, while the repair continues, some areas in the state might experience temporary water shortages, assuring those that would be affected to bear it for a short period, as there would be prompt repair to allow free flow of water in the area.
Some areas inspected were lta-Oshin, Neuro Psychiatric, Aro; Oke Lantoro, Ajegunle Community, Fajol, Obantoko among others in Abeokuta metropolis.
Speaking on behalf of other residents, Mrs. Titilola Adefuke, Head of Department, Building Maintenance, Neuro Psychiatric Hospital, Aro, appreciated the state government for its quick intervention, saying the repair operation would ensure constant supply of water to the public during the festive period and beyond, while promising prompt payment of bills.
