LASU Students Dominate Don Etiebet Best Project Student Competition, Clinch Top Three Prizes




Two students from the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science, Lagos State University, Habeeblah Oladipupo Aberejo and Taofeek Akorede Akintunde have clinched first and third positions, respectively, at the Chief Don Etiebet Best Project Student competition designed  to identify *the best B.Sc Computer Science Project in Lagos State for the year 2024

The competition was organised by the Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Computer Society (NCS) and funded by Chief Don Etiebet.

Habeeblah Oladipupo *ABEREJO’s* project titled - *Development of Students' Attendance System Using Facial Recognition and Geofencing Technology*, earned him the first position while Taofeek Akorede *AKINTUNDE’s* project titled - *Development of a Recommender System for Academic Articles Publication*, earned him the third position at the competition.

The two awardees were supervised by Professor Benjamin *ARIBISALA* of the Department of Computer Science, Lagos State University.

The awards were presented to the students at the *2024 IT Summit and Awards* held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos on Thursday, 31st October 2024.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello,  congratulated  Habeeblah Oladipupo ABEREJO and Taofeek Akorede AKINTUNDE, the Department of Computer Science, and the entire Faculty of Science on the remarkable feat.
