Nigerian Copyright Commission has given approval to the Lagos State University Centre of Excellence for Sargassum Research (CESAR) for copyright protection of five of its innovative products in the market, following an application sent by the centre for approval
The commission's approved copyright includes SargaFish Feed, SargaChicken Feed, SargaRabbit Feed, SargaPig Feed and SargaGrasscutter Feed
Earlier, CESAR had received trademarks by the Nigerian Ministry of Trade and Investments for the products.
Director of the centre , Prof. Benjamin Aribisala revealed this while sharing the news with Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello
The approval according to him, is a milestone achievement that testifies to LASU's commitment to cutting-edge research and innovation.
With the copyright approval, which is geared towards the protection of the institution's intellectual property, LASU is empowered to safeguard the four products against unauthorised reproduction.
Prof. Aribisala praised the Vice-Chancellor for her committed support for the Centre, which proved instrumental in the achievement of the milestone.
