Ogun State Ministry of Sports Development has expressed joy over the appointment of the State erstwhile Sports Commissioner, Chief Bukola Olopade as the Director General of the National Sports Commission by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu
The State Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon Wasiu Isiaka in a congratulatory message expressed the excitement of Governor Dapo Abiodun, the government, and the good people of Ogun State, describing the appointment as testament to Olopade's unwavering commitment and significant contributions to Nigeria's sports sector
"This monumental achievement is a testament to Chief Bukola Olopade's unwavering commitment and significant contributions to Nigeria's sports sector. His exemplary track record as a former Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Ogun State, as well as his private sports business, laid the foundation for this well-deserved recognition. His passionate advocacy and innovative strategies have been pivotal in the growth and development of sports", he stated
"His appointment as Local Organizing Committee's (LOC) Chairman of the upcoming 22nd National Sports Festival, tagged the Gateway Games Ogun 2024, by His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, in 2023, is a testament to his dedication and vision. These qualities have undoubtedly contributed to our preparations for the festival thus far.
Isiaka expressed confidence that his appointment would drive positive change and elevate Nigerian sports to compete globally
