LASU Emerges As Nigeria's Best State University, Ranks Among Top 30 In Africa



Lagos State University (LASU) Ojo has emerged as Nigeria's best state government owned university and ranked among the top thirty (30) universities in Africa, according to the latest 2024 report  by the prestigious Times Higher Education Sub-Saharan Africa University Rankings

LASU in the report obtained by Edu-Biznews, was also rated second best public university in the country, just behind Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in Kaduna State , just as it finished in the fourth best position among 37 Nigerian institutions both publicly and privately owned 

The university also finished in the top 30 among the 129 institutions evaluated in Africa 


Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello speaking on the landmark achievement, said the various rankings, underscored the commitment of LASU as an institution to academic excellence, particularly in the areas of teaching and research amongst others 

"These remarkable rankings underscore LASU's unwavering commitment to academic excellence, cutting-edge research, and impactful community engagement. The university's impressive results in key performance areas such as teaching, research, and international outlook continue to elevate its reputation on both national and continental levels".

"This milestone is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire LASU community—students, faculty, and staff alike. It reinforces the university's position as a trailblazer in higher education in Nigeria and across Africa", she stated 

The Vice-Chancellor then congratulated the LASU community on the outstanding  success story
