PCRC Inaugurates Babcock University's Chapter, To Enhance Security On Campus

Amidst growing national security concerns, the Babcock University chapter of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has been re-inaugurated.

This move coming seven years after its initial launch, reaffirms the university's commitment to fostering stronger police-community ties and enhancing public security.

At the Police Divisional Headquarters in Ilishan where the chapter members met with others, the Divisional Police Officer, SP Betty Ajuwon emphasized the necessity of collective effort in addressing insecurity.

"We need your support to build a safe and better community," she urged.

The PCRC State Chair, Venerable (Dr.) Samson Kunle Popoola, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the importance of cooperation in tackling societal issues.

"There are no perfect societies or sectors. We must learn to manage one another," he noted.

The re-inauguration ceremony, attended by key stakeholders, including Ogun State Vice Chair Prince Adesanya Oduola and Area Command PRO Oguntayo Adelana, culminated in a pledge to create a safer community through a revitalized PCRC.

Babcock University's renewed commitment to PCRC underscores its strategic position in developing stronger relations with its host community as well as marks a significant step towards fostering collaborative efforts in addressing national security concerns.

The programme culminated in a ceremony at the Ilishan Town Hall with all stakeholders and patrons pledging support to create a safer community through a stronger and more impactful PCRC.

Among the patrons were the Babcock University Director of Security Services, Dr. Chukwumah Ajike, Otunba Ougbenga Adebajo, Princess Deaconess Olurotimi Alonge and Alhaja Tumininu Oduye.
