Ogun Govt Unfolds Plan To Revive Neglected Agric Institute In Igbogila

Ogun State Government has unfolded its plan to revive the long-abandoned Agricultural Institute at Igbogila in Yewa North Local Government Area of the state through a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement, as part of measures being taken to ensure food security

The institute, constructed during late Olabisi Onabanjo administration, is strategically located near farm settlements like Sawonjo and Imasayi, making it an ideal hub for agricultural activities.

The State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Bolu Owotomo, revealed this during a visit to the institute, accompanied by a member of the State House of Assembly representing Yewa North 1 State Constituency, Hon. Adeyanju Adegoke

He  added that a central market would be established to serve the axis, as requested by the community.

Owotomo expressed government's readiness to partner with entrepreneurs in Agric Business interested in investing in the institute as well as cater for farmers and unemployed youths in the area and the state at large.

Also speaking, Hon. Adegoke commended the Commissioner's passion for the project, saying the revival of the institute which had been abandoned for three decades, would improve the livelihood of farmers and create agricultural opportunities for youths.
