Deputy Minority Leader at the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Lukmon Atobatele has assured people of his Abeokuta South Constituency 1 of more empowerment opportunities in Agriculture Business, free medical intervention among others initiatives targeted at improving their standard of living in the remaining three years as a legislator
Atobatele who gave the assurance on Thursday on his arrival to Nigeria from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as one of the pilgrims to the 2024 Hajj activities, met with scores of supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at ward-two in Adatan- Carwash area of the State capital
The lawmaker recalled that no fewer than 46
unemployed youths within his Constituency were trained for three months on how to plant various crops and setup Agric Businesses while others benefited from free medical intervention including eye surgeries
He revealed that over N3 million was spent on free water supply to people in his constituency while school fees of some of the students were also paid
The Atobatele who was accompanied by Hon. Fasiu Bakenne, a two terms former member of the State House of Assembly and Jamiu Animo-owo , a State official of PDP, appreciated supporters for their steadfastness and belief in PDP and leadership of governorship candidate of the party in the last 2023 poll, Hon. Ladipo Adebutu, despite the economic hardship being experienced in the country
He expressed confidence that the party would emerge victorious at both the State and National levels in 2027, urging them to continue to be loyal to PDP and work together for unity and success of the forthcoming Congress of the party
One of the female beneficiaries of the free agriculture training programme powered by the World Bank and MasterCard International, shared her personal experiences on how N40,000 from organizers and N20, 000 from Atobatele were paid to each of them during the three months training period
Similarly Hon. Bakenne, a top leader of the party in the state, was full appreciation to members of the ward two for remaining in PDP , despite the hardship in the country, assuring them of the electoral victory of Adebutu who is expected to seek and contest for the governorship's ticket of the party in 2027
High point of the visit, was the presentation of new PDP membership card of the ward two of the Abeokuta South Constituency to the lawmaker
