President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a sum of N35 billion for Nigerian Education Loan Fund( NELFUND) as loan to 70,000 students across 124 federal tertiary institutions whose applications have been approved
Also students from the state tertiary institutions are expected to begin to access NELFUND's portal as from this week Tuesday, 25th of June , 2024 according multiple reliable sources
Another 50,000 applications it was gathered, are currently being evaluated and will be approved within 30 days,under the phase of the loan scheme where 1.2 million students from the public tertiary institutions will be benefiting
Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NELFUND, Akintunde Sawyer said that the fund would be disbursed to various institutions of the beneficiaries based on time-table and academic calendar of each of the institutions
“The funds will be disbursed based on the timetable and calendars of the academic session of each institution. The portal for students to apply for the loan opened on May 24, 2024", he stated
