Former Deputy Chief of Defence Administration, retired Commodore Kunle Olawumi is set to deliver a lecture on the nexus between governance and societal wellbeing at Chrisland University, Abeokuta.
The lecture holds on Thursday 27th June, 2024 at 12 noon. Venue is The Marquee at the University campus located along Ajebo Road, Abeokuta.
Olawunmi who is an expert in the field of Global Counter-Terrorism, is currently Head of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy in the University renowned for intellectual radiance.
The lecture is the maiden one for the College of Arts, Management and Social Sciences(CAMASS) which is headed by the Dean, Prof Benjamin O. Olley.
The topic of discourse is: *"The Nexus Between Governance and Societal Needs and Peace in Nigeria"*
The academic event will be chaired by the University's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Chinedum Peace Babalola in her capacity as Chief Host.
It would be recalled that Commodore Olawumi, sometimes in 2021 opened on in the media that the then Buhari Government have full knowledge of those sponsoring the Boko Haram insurgency and banditry in Nigeria but failed to act.
Following this, the Defence Intelligence Agency(DIA) invited him for questioning for creating an upset within security circles, an invitation which he boldly honoured in company of his lawyer, Femi Falana.
Prior to retiring as Deputy Chief of Defence Administration at the DIA in 2016, Olawunmi once held sway as Defence Attache in France as well as Commandant/Director of Studies: Defence Intelligence College.
It would be interesting to hear his thoughts on governance and societal expectations as the country currently groan under the current economic hardships...
