Al-Mu'minaat Egba-Yewa Zone Seminar: Medical Expert Charges Muslim Women Professionals To Be Agents Of Positive Change, Good Mentors For Young Ones




A Medical Expert at Ogun State Health Insurance Agency, Dr.(Mrs)Sarat Adebayo has charged Muslim women professionals to always strive to be agents of positive change and  good mentors who promote high ethical and moral values in Islam, worthy of emulation by young generation aspiring  to actualize their career goals in the society 

The Senior Medical Officer who was a guest lecturer at a professional seminar organized by the Egba-Yewa Zone of Al-Mu'minaat  Organization on Saturday in Abeokuta, the State capital, also tasked them to always upgrade their professional status, by seeking higher educational qualifications or acquiring necessary additional skills in their respective professions to be more relevant in occupying key positions in public service and creating career opportunities for their fellow young  female  Muslim who want to serve and excel in public service or  private sector 

"You must move beyond being spectators and be a major player in your respective professions ", she stated 




The medical expert who was speaking on the theme of the seminar "Professional Muslimah: Promoting Structured Mentorship", stressed the need for Muslim women professionals to provide a good mentorship, by guiding their mentees  to overcome challenges and succeed in various chosen careers without compromising Islamic values and teachings  

She equally encouraged young generation of female Muslim professionals, to always choose the right mentors for them to grow and be successful in their chosen professions 








The guest lecturer identified personally networking and exchanging of ideas and knowledge with fellow professionals and those in other professions as very key in attainment of career goals 

Amirah of Egba-Yewa Zone of Al-Mu'minaat, Hajia Sekinat Abdur-Raheem Yusuf in earlier key note speech to welcome participants, emphasized the importance of mentorship in contemporary society, saying it plays crucial role in achieving personal and professional growth 




"Mentorship contributes to the individual and societal development which includes Professional development, intellectual, moral, educational and emotional development.In a nutshell, mentorship enriches the society by producing a strong and more capable personal ties that contribute positively to the societal growth", she stated 



Similarly the National Treasurer of Al-'Mu'minaat, Hajia Aisha Mikhail explained that the essence of the seminar was to encourage networking, sharing of knowledge among Muslim women professionals and providing necessary support for members to achieve their career goals while upholding ethical and Islamic values 

She added that the seminar was organized to sustain the leadership role of the group as a major player in building ideal society in Nigeria 










High point of the seminar was grouping of participants based on their professional background and practices  which those in accounting, medical, teaching, business administration as well as artisans and traders in the informal sector with the aim of coming up with  practical solutions to challenges facing the country in various sectors
