A total of 100 traders at popular Kuto, Abeokuta Market in the Ogun State capital have benefited from various financial grants aimed at supporting small scale businesses under the Yomight Foundation Empowerment scheme in partnership with House of Representatives member,
representing Abeokuta South Federal Constituency , Hon. Moruf Afolabi Afuape
The empowerment initiative described as a renewed hope by the residents of Kuto zone and those across the constituency, was held at St John's Primary School Hall, Kuto, Abeokuta.
Speaking at the programme, the Baale of Kuto , High Chief Mufutau Kehinde appreciated to the founder of the foundation
The Baale stressed the need for Afuape to be closer to the people as their representative at the House of Representatives, saying they need him more during this current economic hardship.
The foundation's leader, Chief Yomi Aina explained that the grant was designed to develop human capacity and small scale businesses in the area
He described Honourable Afuape as a unique God fearing Politician.
He appreciated the people for turning out to grace the programme which he described as the first of its kind to support efforts of Honourable Moruf Afolabi Afuape who strides to renew the hopes of the people within his constituency as part of promise he made during his campaign.
" Hon. Afuape has been doing so much at fulfilling promises he made during his campaign and what is on ground beyond what one man can do so I'm delighted to join him through my foundation to put smiles on my people and more of this gesture are coming.", he submitted
Similarly, the State youth leader, Hon. Saburee Adefolu, commended the initiative and support of the founder of the Foundation for supporting the traders ,
despite the fact that he was not holding any political Office.
The financial support is targeted at improving the lots of people and also complement the efforts of Afuape who is representing Abeokuta South Federal Constituency
He added that the financial support was given to the identified traders at the most suitable period when all the political appointees and well meaning citizens in the society should come around and support people, especially the small scale business owners to relief them of current economic situation.
Addressing the gathering, one of the political leaders in the zone and former Council Vice Chairman, High Chief Lateef Adenekan , commended Hon.Moruf Afuape activities in the State , admonished him to look more into other necessary areas of human development as its urgently required, while appreciating Yomight Foundation for its kind gesture that would go along way at improving socio - economy activities of the area.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries separately ,Mrs. Blessing Tijani and Alph Ibrahim Bello appreciated the Honourable representing the Abeokuta South Federal Constituency and Yomight Foundation for the empowerment support to enhance their business and assured them of using the empowerment jusiously.
The high light of the event was the presentation of cash gifts to about 100 beneficiaries at the empowerment programme.
